A Witch's Whisper
The Lakehouse murder mystery game
This project was to attempt to use more AI platforms to help me learn and develop a web-based murder mystery game for a single player.
I used Chat GBT to request a murder mystery game for one person, with some specific details, such as: "7+ characters, all need character profiles", "In a lakehouse in mountainous woods", "Witch folktale theme", "All characters need a motive for murder", "There must be 3 rounds, which a clue at the end of each round" as just some of my prompts. The results produced were more vague than I anticipated, so development in learning how to use Chat GBT efficiently needs work; but it did give me 7 characters with an occupation, all at a lakehouse with a witch folktale (but did not specify what that was), a basis for what the player should do each round, like interact with each character to gather information and to guess the murderer after the 3 rounds.
With a rough start, I can expand on the story myself and already have some interesting subject areas to play with in terms of story and development. I then requested recommendations of which platforms I can then begin to develop this murder mystery game. It supplied many options, but again, they were options I need to tailor to my current needs and abilities. Moving forward, it would be fun to put this idea into practice and see if developing the game would be possible. It would be incredibly time-consuming however, especially to develop each character but mostly the art for all backgrounds, rooms, characters, items and the general whole production of it. However, it would be fun. Watch this space, as I may attempt a couple of the easier platforms if it is doable.
